Terms and Conditions

These Terms apply to the free Arcana experience and to one-time personalized readings purchased through the service. Different or additional terms apply only if expressly agreed in writing.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to purchase a personalized reading. Do not use the service if doing so is prohibited in your jurisdiction.

The free reading is a locally composed symbolic interpretation of three selected tarot cards. It does not use your free-text personal context and is not generated by an AI model at runtime.

The optional personalized reading connects the three selected cards with the context and question you choose to submit. It consists of one AI-generated written reading plus up to two concise AI-generated clarification answers about that exact reading for the displayed one-time price. Optional microphone dictation, AI narration, and device read-aloud run only when you request them. No subscription is created.

Personalized text and AI narration are generated automatically by third-party AI models and are clearly identified as AI-generated. They are not individually reviewed by a human before delivery.

AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, repetitive, or unsuitable for your circumstances. It may not reflect facts about you or any other person. Arcana does not use the reading to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Tarot is used here as a symbolic prompt for reflection, not as evidence, diagnosis, certainty, or a statement about fate, another person's thoughts, or future events. You use the content at your own discretion and remain responsible for your choices and actions.

Do not rely on Arcana instead of a qualified doctor, therapist, lawyer, financial adviser, emergency service, or other professional. If you or another person may be in danger, contact an appropriate local emergency service or trusted professional immediately.

You are responsible for the text you submit and confirm that you have the right to provide it. Do not include full names, addresses, account details, passwords, confidential business information, or sensitive information about another identifiable person.

You must not misuse Arcana, bypass payment or access controls, automate excessive requests, probe or attack the service, attempt prompt injection or extraction of hidden instructions, submit unlawful or harmful material, impersonate another person, or infringe intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights.

The localized one-time total price shown in the interface includes one personalized generation. The final total price, currency, and accepted payment method are displayed immediately before purchase. There is no recurring payment or subscription.

Payment is processed by Stripe. A paid contract is concluded when the payment is successfully confirmed and Arcana accepts the order by making the personalized generation available. If payment is not confirmed, no entitlement to the paid reading arises.

The personalized reading is intended to be generated promptly after confirmed payment, valid submission of the form, and your request to begin generation. Generation and narration times vary and require a compatible modern browser, JavaScript, an internet connection, and availability of third-party services.

Reading state and generated results are primarily stored in your browser. Local browser storage is not a permanent backup and may be removed when you clear browser data, use private browsing, change device, or reset Arcana. Download any result you want to retain.

Consumers generally have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. Before payment, Arcana separately asks whether you expressly request immediate performance before that period ends and acknowledge that, for digital content, your right of withdrawal expires when performance begins. Arcana records that confirmation with the order. If the contract is legally classified as a service instead, the right expires only on complete performance under the applicable statutory conditions.

Nothing in these Terms limits a withdrawal right that has not validly expired. You may make an unambiguous withdrawal declaration by emailing the operator identified in the Impressum.

Your mandatory rights for digital products remain fully applicable. If a paid reading is not delivered or is technically defective, contact the operator using the details in the Impressum so that delivery can be restored, repeated, the price reduced, or refunded where required by law.

A subjective disagreement with a symbolic interpretation does not by itself establish a technical defect, but this does not restrict any statutory remedy.

The Arcana name, interface, card artwork, visual design, software, and editorial content are owned by or licensed to the operator and may not be copied, sold, scraped, or commercially reused without permission, except where law allows.

You retain your rights in text you submit. You may save and share your own reading for private, non-commercial purposes. AI output may not qualify for exclusive copyright protection and similar output may be generated for others; no exclusivity is promised.

Arcana may be maintained, secured, improved, or temporarily unavailable. Free features may be changed or discontinued. Changes will not remove mandatory rights relating to a paid reading already purchased.

The operator does not promise uninterrupted availability of third-party AI, payment, hosting, browser-voice, or sharing services.

The operator has unlimited liability for intent and gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, guarantees expressly given, fraudulent concealment, and liability that cannot legally be excluded, including under applicable product-liability law.

For ordinary negligence involving an essential contractual obligation, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this contract. Otherwise, liability for ordinary negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory consumer and digital-product rights remain unaffected.

Processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Personalized context is transmitted only after the separate form disclosure and consent. OpenRouter and the selected model provider process the AI request; Stripe processes payment information. Their own terms and privacy notices may additionally apply to their independent processing.

External sharing links take you to services operated by other providers. Arcana is not responsible for content or processing that occurs after you choose to leave the service.

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice does not remove mandatory protections available under the law of your habitual residence, and statutory rules determine jurisdiction.

Information about consumer dispute resolution appears in the Impressum. Arcana may update these Terms for future use where reasonably necessary; the version in force when a paid order is placed governs that order. If one provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue to apply where legally possible.
